NEW - Glendon Dam Run - A Kayak & Bike Rental

Photo opportunity with the Historic Chain Dam

Glendon Dam, or Dam 8, is known as the “Chain Dam” because originally a chain operated ferry was used to transport canal boats between the north and south banks of the river. Later, a mule bridge and causeway replaced this system. The original stone and wood crib dam was washed away and was replaced by the concrete dam that exists today. The dam height is 16 feet.

Kayak Rental on the Lehigh River

Due to the many requests for a kayak rental option, we are pleased to introduce the  Glendon Dam Run, a Kayak and Bike Rental. The Lehigh River is calm and easy in this 2 mile section from Nagy's Landing to the Rt. 33 Sportsman's access. If your looking to rent kayaks and see the river on your own, this is the right activity for you.

Ride to the photo opp at the Glendon Dam

After your kayak paddle to the Rt. 33 Sportsmans's access, hit the D&L Trail on a mountain bike and check out the Glendon Dam, a great photo spot. Then ride back to Nagy's Landing to complete your kayak and bike adventure. This is an eay 45 min bike ride on one of the most senic parts of the D&L Trail. A courtesey shuttle is available for anyone who does not want to ride a bike.)
